Overview

FE Test Prep ("we", "us") is a web-based study tool for the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data Stored on Your Device

All your study progress, streaks, exam history, flashcard progress, and NCEES diagnostic scores are stored locally in your browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it.

• Study progress and statistics
• Exam results and topic performance
• Flashcard spaced repetition state
• Dark mode and discipline preferences
• License key (stored locally for offline access)

We do not have access to your locally stored data. If you clear your browser data, this information is permanently deleted.

License Keys & Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers or billing details. When you purchase a license or enter a promo code, your license key is validated via our server and cached locally. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Analytics

We use the following analytics services to understand how our tool is used and improve it:

• Google Analytics (GA4) — Collects anonymized page view and usage data (pages visited, session duration, device type, approximate location by country). Google Analytics uses cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Vercel Speed Insights — Collects anonymized web performance metrics (page load times, Core Web Vitals). No cookies are used. See Vercel's documentation.

We do not sell your data to third parties. Analytics data is used solely to improve the study tool.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies:

• Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) — for anonymized usage analytics
• No advertising or tracking cookies — we do not run ads

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Names, email addresses, or personal identifiers (unless you contact support)
• Your study answers, scores, or performance data
• Credit card or payment details (handled entirely by Stripe)

Third-Party Services

• Stripe — Payment processing
• Google Fonts — Font delivery
• KaTeX (jsDelivr CDN) — Math rendering
• Vercel — Hosting and serverless functions

Children's Privacy

FE Test Prep is intended for engineering students and professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
